A Presentation by Wing Commander Colin Cummings Rtd.
An Exhibition of RAF memorabilia
Colin Cummings spent much of his early RAF service working with the support helicopter force in UK and Far East. He became involved heavily with computers and IT systems from their fairly early days; including helping develop PANDORA - the RAF’s first flight safety management system.
Colin is the author of several books relating to aircraft and is an RAF historian and a member of the RAF Historical Society Committee; He will recall RAF history from the formation of the Royal Engineers (RE) Balloon Company to the Royal Naval interest in flying machines.
He will refer to the formation of the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service and ultimately to the creation of the Royal Air Force, the Women’s Royal Air Force and the Fleet Air Arm.
Colin will discuss the RAF in war and post war. He will close with reference to the Centenary and afterwards.
Proceeds will be sent to the Royal Air Force Association.
